Painting the Landscape

  • Home studio Austerlitz, NY (map)
  • Join Casey Krawczyk for a 4-day landscape painting workshop. Learn to paint the landscape in an “alla prima” approach through observation of the subtle nuances of color, temperature and form. Casey will guide students each step of the way through demonstration and individual instruction, helping the student develop a better understanding of design, color mixing/observation, form modeling, and applying finishing touches.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, students will:
1. Understand the "alla prima" technique for landscape painting in oil.
3. Utilize a step-by-step approach to confidently create their own landscape painting.
4. Learn to design a strong composition.
5. Gain a solid understanding of color mixing and color observation for lifelike representation of a landscape, and other subject matter.
6. Gain insight into modeling form and how to add finishing details while subordinating them to the overall composition.
